In a gathering marked by both joy and farewell, Al-Zahraa University for Women bid farewell to the first cohort of graduates following the completion of their final examinations on Monday, 19 June 2023.

Prof. Dr Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, together with Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Al-Asadi, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and the Deans of the University’s faculties, met with the graduating female students in Umm Abiha Hall. The said event was attended by a slew of academic and administrative staff, reflecting the strong relationship that had developed between the female graduates, the University Presidency, and its staff throughout their four years of study.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr Al-Sultani encouraged the female graduates to uphold exemplary moral values, following the example of Lady Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and her daughter, Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), Aqilat Banu Hashim (honoured lady of Banu Hashim). She further urged them to remain committed to the pursuit of knowledge and lifelong learning, not to regard the bachelor’s degree as the end of their academic journey, and to serve as beacons of guidance for their families and future husbands, while fulfilling their moral and educational responsibilities in raising future generations.

The Vice President for Scientific Affairs and the Deans of the faculties also addressed the female graduates, offering words of encouragement and motivation to continue their academic and intellectual pursuits.

As part and parcel of the meeting, and in implementation of the guidance and recommendations of the Legitimate Overseer of the Affairs of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the University distributed a guidance card entitled “ A Message to My Graduate Daughter” to the graduating female students. Prepared by the University Presidency, the publication is intended to serve as a practical guide for graduates as they begin their professional lives and contribute effectively to the development of their communities after graduation.
