Head of Department's Message

An Academic Vision Towards Excellence and Innovation

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Praise be to Allah(swt), who granted us light in thought and art, and made creativity a means to express values and principles. Peace and blessings be upon His best creation, the Prophet Mohammad, and upon his pure and virtuous family. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Art Education, which strives to be a scientific and artistic beacon, nurturing female students to become committed artists and educators who possess aesthetic, ethical, and religious awareness. They are equipped to integrate artistic creativity with community service in a clear and purposeful mission. We firmly believe that committed art is not for beauty alone, but a noble message that serves society, strengthens cultural and religious identity, and instils the values of truth, beauty, and benevolence in every artistic work. Our department is keen on developing comprehensive curricula that utilise visual, musical, theatrical, audiovisual, and educational arts in light of the latest educational technologies. These programmes are closely connected to the realities and contemporary issues of society, enabling female students to express the eternal message of Imam Hussein and reflect the authentic Islamic values derived from the teachings of the School of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). We also focus on preparing specialised artistic cadres who are academically and pedagogically qualified, providing vital support to schools and educational institutions. Additionally, these efforts contribute to spreading a committed religious artistic and aesthetic culture, enhancing aesthetic awareness in society, and building generations of faithful individuals capable of expressing the concerns of the Islamic society and its civilisation identity through a sophisticated and faithful artistic language. At the Department of Art Education, we believe that every painting, every musical note, and every theatrical performance can serve as a bridge between faith and beauty, conveying a noble message that shapes cultural and artistic awareness in future generations. Therefore, we warmly welcome you to join us in this journey that combines creativity, beauty, and authentic human and religious values, serving society and the community while elevating the artistic and intellectual taste of everyone associated with this academic and artistic institution. The Head of the Department

May Allah grant you all success, and we ask Allah to make our department a beacon of knowledge and virtue.

About the Department

The Department of Art Education plays a fundamental role in developing female students’ intellectual, psychological and creative capacities. Established in the 2024–2025 academic year, the Department operates under the University’s single-department policy, with all teaching staff contributing to its programmes. The Department adopts an academic programme encompassing artistic, intellectual, emotional and social dimensions, drawing on the principles of global culture. It embraces the view of art as a branch of the humanities concerned with the nature and development of human life, while advancing towards the concept of digital art education, which incorporates digital technologies, including cyber art and its applications, as a foundation for teaching art education in a manner that reflects contemporary developments. This approach is reflected in both the curriculum and the behaviours associated with its content, and is manifested through sensory perception, verbal information, comprehension, analysis, criticism, measurement, evaluation, appreciation and artistic production.
