Praise be to Allah(swt), who revealed the Book to His servant in a clear Arabic tongue. May peace and blessings be upon the best of those who spoke the language of Ḍād(Arabic), the bearer of glad tidings and the warner, Prophet Mohammad and his purified Household. The Arabic language, the language of the Holy Qur’an, is a profound civilisational heritage that faces the forces of rampant globalisation and pervasive cultural alienation—winds that threaten our identity and seek to eradicate its roots. Thus, Departments of Arabic Language rise as guardians and protectors, supported by conscious and devoted professionals who safeguard the blessed and sacred heritage: the language of the Book and its Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his Household. In fulfilment of this great responsibility, Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has played a pioneering role through Al-Zahraa University for Women. Under the guidance of His Eminence Al-Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbala’i, the Department has been committed to strengthening and advancing this mission, beginning with appointing high-achieving graduates and encouraging enrolment, and extending to the establishment of an integrated academic structure, in recognition of those entrusted with this great responsibility. By the grace of Allah(swt), we have embraced this responsibility with determination to preserve this heritage. The Department’s leadership undertakes the development of academic content and the advancement of competencies, preparing female students to carry a cause that resides in their hearts and a trust for which they are prepared to devote themselves. They are prepared to become exemplary mothers, successful teachers, and active contributors to the building of society. The aim is not merely to graduate cohorts, but to prepare bearers of a message who safeguard the sanctity of the Arabic language. Accordingly, we have actively engaged with universities within Iraq and abroad, exchanging perspectives and expertise and coordinating efforts that have resulted in distinguished academic partnerships with Varamin, Sabzevar, Al-Azhar, Geneva, London, Karbala, Kufa, and Babylon, as well as with the Nahj Al-Balagha Foundation and the Language House. A further milestone in this achievement was the participation of the Faculty of Education in the conference of the University of Milano-Bicocca, establishing an international bridge across academic specialisations over the course of five years. We ask Allah(swt) to accept our humble efforts and make them a provision for the Day of Meeting. We strive for our Department to become a mature beacon of knowledge and a source of qualified graduates who serve the Arabic language and contribute to meeting the needs of the labour market. May peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah(swt) be upon you.
