ZUW Participates in  University of Baghdad’s College of Pharmacy's 12th International Scientific Conference

The Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, participated in the 12th International Scientific Conference of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad, held in conjunction with the celebration of the college’s 90th anniversary. The conference brought together distinguished academics, researchers, and specialists in pharmaceutical sciences.

Several faculty members from the College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Women also attended the conference, contributing to its scientific discussions through specialized research presentations focusing on advanced pharmaceutical technologies.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dhiaa Raheem presented a research paper entitled:

“Development and Optimization of an Essential Oil-Based Nanoemulsion Containing Origanum vulgare and Eucalyptus globulus: Antibacterial and Antibiofilm Activity Against Streptococcus mutans.”

The study focused on developing and optimizing an essential oil-based nanoemulsion containing oregano and eucalyptus oils. It evaluated the formulation’s physicochemical properties, stability, and antibacterial and antibiofilm activities against Streptococcus mutans, a bacterium associated with dental caries.

Additionally, Asst. Lect. Dr. Wissam Al-Anbari presented a scientific poster exploring the application of dendrimer nanotechnology to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of albendazole, contributing to the development of more efficient drug delivery systems.

This participation reflects the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to strengthening its academic presence, fostering scientific collaboration with higher education institutions, supporting research productivity, and keeping pace with the latest advancements in pharmaceutical sciences.
