Al-Zahraa University for Women has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Arab Union Office for Digital Empowerment in Iraq, marking a step towards strengthening cooperation, expanding the scope of digital transformation, leveraging artificial intelligence technologies, training academic staff, developing educational programs, and nurturing female students’ talents in line with the demands of the digital age.

During the visit, the delegation held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Jadoo’, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Qazzaz, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, along with Prof. Dr. Ghida’ Abd Al-Hussein the Dean of the Engineering and Information Technology Faculty. Additionally, discussions centred on mechanisms to activate the MoU through the organisation of training workshops for female students and the establishment of specialised summer courses in areas such as cyber-extortion and modern digital technologies.

Dr. Khalil Al-Tayyar, Advisor to Imam Hussain Holy Shrine for External Relations and Public Affairs, highlighted that the signing of this MoU represents a qualitative step towards reinforcing cooperation between the University and the Arab Union for Digital Empowerment. He further noted that the agreement lays the foundation for a joint action plan to develop academic and technical programs and to build specialised scientific capacities for female students in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

In turn, Dr. Abbas Al-Jubouri, Head of the Arab Union for Digital Empowerment in Iraq, stated that this initiative will help translate signed agreements into practical programs that meet the University’s needs and contribute to the advancement of both academic staff and students in digital transformation and modern technologies.

On this occasion, Dr. Al-Sultani affirmed that Al-Zahraa University for Women is committed to supporting the path of digital development and keeping pace with global advances in technology and information science, while ensuring the provision of the best academic opportunities for its female students.

The MoU with the Arab Union for Digital Empowerment constitutes a strategic step towards consolidating Al-Zahraa University for Women’s position as a pioneering academic institution in digital transformation and artificial intelligence. It also contributes to preparing a generation of female students equipped with the scientific and technical skills required to face the challenges of the digital era with competence and distinction.
