The Central Library at Al-Zahraa University for Women welcomed a specialised team from Imam Hussein Centre for Manuscripts and Verification, affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, to carry out a comprehensive disinfection campaign. Additionally, the said event comes as part and parcel of its ongoing efforts to preserve its intellectual heritage and protect rare books and valuable resources from deterioration and contaminants.

Mrs Hanan Farouq, Head of the Central Library, explained that such initiatives represent an important step towards ensuring the sustainability of the library’s scientific and cultural collections, while providing reliable resources and a suitable research environment for female students and researchers.

The team’s work continued for four consecutive days, during which all books and resources were disinfected to help prevent the spread of bacteria and contaminants between older and newer collections. The campaign was carried out in cooperation with the University’s Services Affairs Department.

It is worth noting that Al-Zahraa University for Women affirms its ongoing commitment to preserving its scientific resources and developing a healthy academic environment that reflects its position as a leading institution in education and scientific research.
