Department of Art Education
Introductory Overview
The Department of Art Education at the College of Education / Al-Zahraa University for Women is based on an academic and educational vision that believes art is not merely a visual or aesthetic production, but also an intellectual, spiritual, moral, and social message. Therefore, the department seeks to prepare artists and teachers who are able to employ art as a conscious language for expressing identity, faith, heritage, beauty, and the concerns of society.

To make the Department of Art Education a distinguished academic center for preparing female artists and teachers who carry a committed faith-based and artistic message. Through this message, they embody Islamic values and moral principles in the field of art, contribute to reviving religious heritage and the Husseini renaissance through conscious artistic expression, achieve integration between beauty and faith, and serve the issues of the nation and society with an authentic spirit derived from the School of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
Mission
The Department of Art Education seeks to prepare female teachers and artists who possess aesthetic awareness and moral and religious commitment. The department works to employ visual and educational arts in the service of Islamic values, especially in expressing the eternal Husseini message. This is achieved through an authentic scientific curriculum that combines artistic depth with spiritual dimension, strengthens the original cultural identity derived from the School of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and promotes the concepts of purposeful and committed art. The department also presents an artistic educational vision that elevates truth and beauty and contributes to building faithful generations capable of expressing the issues of the Islamic nation and its civilizational identity through a refined artistic language.

To prepare specialized cadres in theatrical arts, visual arts, musical arts, audiovisual arts, and art education in light of modern technology.
To prepare and apply academic curricula in a way that makes them organically connected to society and its contemporary issues.
To prepare committed female artists who carry the beacon of religiously inspired art and express authentic values through conscious aesthetic practice.
