In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

It gives me great pleasure to begin my speech by extending my congratulations to all my colleagues—faculty members of our esteemed department—as well as all staff and students of the department, on the occasion of a successful and happy academic year. We all hope that it will be a year in which we achieve what pleases Allah and satisfies our consciences in building a new generation of our female students, whom we regard as future cadres who will benefit their society and homeland, and fulfill the hopes and aspirations placed upon them for the advancement, progress, and prosperity of this nation.

Mathematics is considered the foundation of all basic sciences, as well as engineering and medical sciences, in both their theoretical and applied branches. From this emerged the well-known saying: “Mathematics is the servant of the sciences and their queen.” It is the pillar upon which all sciences rely. Mathematics is not studied as rigid theories alone; rather, it offers effective methods in statistics, decision-making, linear programming, computer science, and cryptography. It enables the mathematical researcher to model complex problems that may face various sectors and to find optimal solutions for them. Likewise, it has greatly supported scientists in all fields through the tremendous breakthroughs it has provided in theoretical concepts and practical applications in medicine, engineering, and beyond.

I pray to Allah to guide my steps and those of my esteemed colleagues as we continue the journey of this department in disseminating pure, applied, and computational mathematics, which have become central to modern scientific advancement.

In conclusion, on my own behalf and on behalf of all respected faculty members of the Department of Mathematics, I commend the continuous efforts and unlimited cooperation of the respected Dean of the College in elevating the status of the college among all the university’s colleges. We ask Allah for success and righteousness in all that brings  and benefit to our beloved country.
