Department Mission

All members of the Department of Mathematics at the College of Education, Al-Zahraa University (for Women), work diligently and continuously to achieve its vision by undertaking the following:

• Striving to provide distinguished education of relatively high quality.

• Producing new and beneficial knowledge through original scientific research.

• Promoting scientific culture and addressing educational problems in Iraqi and Arab schools and educational institutions.

• Reproducing new and useful scientific knowledge through authorship and translation of authentic human thought.

• Preparing and qualifying high-quality educational outputs capable of contributing to community service and development, and responding to the contemporary labor market.

• Training female students to acquire scientific and life skills required by the nature of work in intermediate and secondary schools, and for living in a world with increasing challenges and problems.

• Instilling noble scientific, national, and humanitarian values that respect human dignity regardless of gender, color, religion, or belief.

• Serving the local community beyond the college walls by spreading scientific culture that encourages respect for intellectual and manual work and urges everyone toward material and spiritual creativity in all areas of life.

• Contributing to wealth creation and supporting the college and university budget by providing the best consultations, training, addressing issues in scientific education and research, and delivering distinguished services to intermediate and secondary schools outside the university.

• Discontinuing the services of any faculty member, employee, or worker in the department who, after being provided with appropriate training opportunities, fails to elevate their performance to the level required by international quality and academic accreditation standards.

• Integrating learning and teaching technologies into all scientific and professional programs and activities of the department and working to implement them.

• Communicating with corresponding departments in Iraqi, Arab, and international universities to build bridges of cooperation and exchange expertise, skills, and experiences.

• Developing human capacities capable of improving work performance and responding effectively to modern technologies.

Department Objectives

• Achieving academic accreditation and comprehensive quality assurance.

• Preparing and qualifying scientific and educational staff to perform their teaching duties with high efficiency and professionalism.

• Providing a contemporary scientific and distinguished research environment linked to the needs and aspirations of society.

• Optimal investment of material and human resources to achieve development.

• Focusing on designing an integrated scientific and educational program throughout the years of study to enhance students’ competitiveness and achieve balance between their capabilities and specializations and the requirements of the labor market.

• Applying the university’s principle of community service by organizing scientific and training courses and seminars for state employees, and exchanging consultative, scientific, and educational expertise.

• Ensuring that the department becomes pioneering and distinguished in supporting research or educational programs that contribute to developing scientific and educational capacities through a future plan to support research laboratories and educational centers.

• Providing certain scientific, academic, and military institutions in Iraq with qualified researchers to work in their research centers.
