The English Department was established in the 2018-2019 academic year, coinciding with the founding of the College of Education. It operates as a single department within the university, with all English professors participating in its programs and activities. The department employs a comprehensive academic work program that utilizes the latest electronic technologies. This program relies on task description and analysis, taking into account the department's specific vision and objectives, which aim to meet the needs of the community. The department continuously develops its program through an annual review by its academic committee. This review, in turn, impacts the department's output, including students, faculty, and administrative staff. The department offers four Bachelor's degree programs, which have been available since 2019. The department employs 20 faculty members specializing in various fields such as linguistics, literature, and teaching methodologies, holding academic ranks from lecturer to assistant lecturer. Currently, the department relies entirely on in-person instruction for teaching, examinations, student communication, and providing academic resources. In addition, communication with students is facilitated through a dedicated departmental Telegram group. The department annually holds weekly seminars for the department’s professors and a number of seminars on topics within and outside the specialization. It also participates in local and international conferences and publishes research submitted by the department’s professors both globally and locally.
